Description: The story begins with Aesop’s classic fable The Tortoise and the Hare, where the “slow and steady” Tortoise defeats the speedy but overconfident Hare. Lightwire Theater continues the tale 10 years later, as the former rivals now have children of their own navigating a world filled with smartphones, video games, and modern-day distractions. Tortoise Junior and Lil’ Hare set off on a whole new kind of race that takes them into unexpected territory, forcing Old Man Tortoise and Big Daddy Hare to put aside their differences to find and save their children. With dazzling visuals, heartfelt storytelling, and music ranging from classical to pop, The Next Gen brings this timeless tale brilliantly into the modern day. This show is geared towards grades K-6th grade.
